Jennifer Edgecombe grew up in Cornwall and now lives on the Kent coast. Her poems and reviews have appeared in Ambit, Caught by the River, PN Review, The Spectator and Wild Court and a selection of her poems were featured in the anthology New Poetries VIII by Carcanet Press. She is currently finalising her debut poetry collection, Designated Land, which was funded by an Arts Council England ‘Developing Your Creative Practice’ award.
Her debut poetry pamphlet, The Grief of the Sea, was published in 2020 by Broken Sleep Books and was reviewed by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s Lifeboat magazine. The RNLI subsequently produced a video of her poem ‘Job Done’ (published in The Spectator) for National Poetry Day 2022 – a poem created through an Arts Council interview project with crew members.
Jennifer currently works as a fiction editor at Headline and also sits on the editorial board of Broken Sleep Books. She has worked in publishing and books for over ten years, having previously worked for Head of Zeus, Flying Eye Books, Phaidon Press and Waterstones.
